Research is a hypothesis-driven original investigation performed to promote and increase the knowledge and understanding of a subject.1 The role of research for any academic institution is of utmost importance for its growth and development. The quality of research work performed by any academician directly benefits the students, society, and the nation. Research increases the visibility of an institution globally and, thus enhances its prestige.

Sound understanding of the available literature and accuracy in the scientific methodology performed to conduct any research are the important parameters for the accurate outcome of any research.2 Quality research needs an academician with a good research profile and more funding flows to universities having faculties with top-ranked research profiles.3

Academicians should understand their responsibilities in the field of research as they are the ones who directly deal with the students. Their interest in research work provides motivation and guidance to budding researchers. The researcher should discourage fake researches, as it not only affects individual research profiles but also the associated establishment. The genuine research done by any researcher not only enhances their research profile but also augments the reputation of their institute/university globally. Owing to these procedural complexities and dilemmas, there is an ever-increasing tendency of migration to the Western countries.

Many researchers are migrating abroad and the reasons behind this migration are complex and multifarious. Some probable reasons may be like poor academic environment, lack of academic resources, less or same honorarium regardless of their academic excellence, etc.4 The institute should encourage their researchers and follow quality research-based promotion and also provide funding to the faculty to conduct good research.

The research governing bodies of the nation should ensure that the universities should strictly follow the regulations and promote quality research and simultaneously support their faculties for the same. The growth of any nation is directly related to the quality research in any field and should be taken seriously.
